Entertainment & Family Fun !
Come on out and ride the Catskill Mountain Railroad’s Great Train Robbery. Board our exciting adventure as the Catskill Mountain Railroad celebrates the legend of the Great Train Robbery, the classic 1903 silent movie by the same name, shot on the New York state rails. Surprises abound on this adventure train that is fun for younger children and adults.
This interactive journey will kick off at the Westbrook Station in Kingston NY and travels up the Hurley Flats. Expect the unexpected as this excursion includes a stop at a local festival with live music and games. Seating is open, so it’s suggested you arrive approximately fifteen minutes early and pick your spot in one of our covered flat cars or inside one of our historic coaches.
Special Needs Travelers: Please make our crew aware in if someone in your party may have difficulty navigating steps and require additional assistance as they may enjoy an alternate that does not include disembarking detour.
Spoiler Alert: In the very likely event that our train is taken over by bandits and needed for their quick getaway, crew and passengers might be asked to disembark at CMRR's Kenco Station where it's also very likely there will be live music, dancing, great shopping potential, and loads fun to be had for all, for about 20-25 minutes while we hope to be rescued by CMRR Sheriff, who'll return all safely to Westbrook Station.
All monies that might be “robbed” aboard our adventure train are donated to Ulster County SPCA.
FYI: Saturday September 1st 2018 (Noon - 5:00pm) The Ulster County SPCA plans be to on hand with pets for potential adoption on Saturday September 1st for the Catskill Mountain Railroad's Great Train Robbery. Kenco the work and play outfitter, is a locally owned and operated family business. Kenco's doors first opened in 1982 on Rock City Road in Woodstock, NY, and was committed to the proposition that hard workers needed clothing and gear to match their ambition. Since then we have moved to Hurley Mountain rd, off of route 28, but we have applied the same principle and grown to include clothing and footwear for working, outdoor adventure, and casual Catskill living. Kenco is the place to go to for knowledge and gear in the sports of kayaking and boating, camping and hiking, archery, snowboarding, and fly fishing. All of our products are chosen by our excellent staff who, unlike in most big box stores, actually spend time in the outdoors. Always friendly, and decidedly non corporate, you are always welcome.
