Peace Train

June 2nd @ 3:00 PM Peace Train

Thinking about the good things to come this summer on the Catskill Mountain Railroad!

Please join us for a celebration of the flower-power spirit on an inspirational musical journey though the late sixties and early seventies for kids of all ages. A rotation of guests joins our friendly CMRR crew of singing and dancing hippies as we partner with musicians, local beer and wine makers, and offer some tasty treats from restaurants around the Kingston area. While away an hour or two on one of our flat cars and let the smiles, sounds and flavors sooth your senses.

AFTERNOON DELIGHTS!

PEACE TRAIN welcomes featured artist Garry Novikoff!

Garry is a genre-bending, multi-award winning artist whose songs have been heard on radio stations across the globe. A TONY nominated musical theater educator, he is also a unique folk story-teller, a writer of ironic pop songs and haunting ballads, an irreverent rocker, a musical theater wordsmith, and an ASCAP award-winning children’s composer. He weaves all of these elements into one rich and complex artistic persona. Time Out New York calls his CD A Normal Life “a catchy – and more importantly funny – collection of pop songs.”

A former resident of NYC, Garry currently lives in Westchester, but has become more and more enamored of Ulster County over the past several years. “Few places in New York state match the abundant natural beauty of this area," he says.

Performing in local venues has led to a growing following. “I am very grateful for the warm reception I’ve been receiving,” he says. “Audiences in places like Rosendale, Woodstock and Saugerties are full of true music lovers. The crowds are very attentive. I’m very honored to be a part of the Peace Train. Maybe though the music I can give a little something back to this area which has been so welcoming.”

Proceeds from Saturday August 18 Peace Trains will help benefit non-profit programs at Hudson Valley LGBTQ Community Center.
